Hospitalité MICE : signification, caractéristiques et opportunités.
📈 MICE tourism in Italy recorded over 300,000 professional events with 31.7 million participants in 2022, a significant increase from the previous year. Meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) are key revenue drivers for the hospitality industry. Hotels with conference rooms are active more than 77% of the time, showcasing resilience despite the impact of Covid-19 restrictions. Italy ranks third globally and second in Europe for MICE tourism, with more than 520 meetings, just behind Spain (528) and the USA (690). The blend of business and leisure travel ("bleisure") is leading to extended stays and mixed payments, benefiting hotels and companies alike. Hospitality MICE advantages include revenue growth from accommodation needs, meeting spaces, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities, improved occupancy rates even during off-peak seasons, and longer average stays, with positive long-term impacts on destination reputation and client base.
