Impact du DMA sur les hôtels : 0,8% de perte de réservations directes
📰 In Europe, the Digital Markets Act (DMA) has caused Google Hotels' reservation source share to drop from 13.4% to 8.9%, a 4.5% absolute decline. Despite this, Google remains the leading source of direct bookings with a 65.7% share. Hotels have recouped 82% of their loss: 3.5% through other Google placements, 1.5% via paid traffic (mainly Google Ads), 2% via organic search, and a 0.2% increase from other metasearch actors like Trivago and Tripadvisor. The net negative impact on direct hotel bookings is -0.8%. In non-European markets, Google's ecosystem remains stable with a slight -0.29% change, but with an increased proportion of paid traffic, resulting in higher costs for hotels. The OTA segment likely gains from diverted traffic, leading to higher distribution costs for hotels. Analysis period extended from 4 to 8 months before/after January 19, 2024.
