La vidéosurveillance
🎬 Before installing a surveillance system, authorization is required from the prefecture, valid for 5 years. The process varies if under 8 cameras or filming public streets. The CERFA n°13806*04 form must be filled out, available at https://www.formulaires.service-public.fr/gf/cerfa_13806.do. Online submission is at https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/Videoprotection/Tele-procedure. Clientele must be notified of surveillance, with footage kept for no more than a month. Since May 25, 2018, private places (non-public) no longer need CNIL declaration but must keep a data processing register, potentially involving a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Representatives and employees should be informed about surveillance systems, as should customers, with clear signage. Non-compliance can lead to sanctions, including forced shutdown or dismantling of the system by police.
