🧑‍🦰 During the 28th European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities, Accor and Handiwork announced a partnership to promote training and professional integration for disabled people in the hospitality industry. The HANDIWORK DÉCOUVERTE program will be implemented in Accor establishments in France, targeting those from protected sectors. The first group of 7 hotels will start in late 2024 in Hauts-de-Seine (92), Toulouse, and Le Havre, with 28 participants. In early 2025, it'll expand to Lyon and Bordeaux. Over ten months, participants will be trained in various hospitality jobs, receiving certificates upon completion, and may continue their careers within the Accor Group.

🌍 During COP29, the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance launched Universal Sustainability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in a session with Tourism ministers and COP presidency. The KPIs address Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics including greenhouse gas emissions, water use, waste, and energy. This aligns with COP29 climate goals, marking a significant step for the hospitality industry's commitment to reducing carbon footprint and embracing sustainability.

🏨 Groupe Avintia Real Estate commences construction of a €11+ million hotel in Vallecas, Madrid, utilizing ávita industrialized construction method. B&B Hotels to operate the 3-star, 159-room, 5,734 m² B&B Vallecas opening December 2025, aiming for Breeam Good environmental certification. Avintia's partnership with B&B since 2021 plans 10 hotels in Madrid and Andalusia by end of 2025. 🏅 The International Olympic Committee (CIO) deleted all content from the Instagram account for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games three months post-closure. Julien Fritsch, social media animator for the 2024 Games, reported the deletion on LinkedIn. The CIO intends to transfer the account's 3.5 million followers to the Olympics Instagram, in collaboration with Meta.
