The hotel, formerly part of the Balladins portfolio sold in 2014, is undergoing a complete transformation with over €2 million in ESG renovations, including room improvements and a new garden inspired by Henri Matisse, aiming for BREEAM environmental certification.

🌍 High-income country residents generate, on average, 100 times more carbon emissions from tourism than those in the poorest nations. A study by university researchers published in Nature Communications, analyzing tourist spending and greenhouse gas emission data from 175 countries, found that the wealthiest nations produce over 3.1 gigatonnes of CO2 per capita from tourism. Global tourism emissions increased by 3.5% annually from 2009 to 2019, double the rate of the global economy, reaching 5.2 gigatonnes of CO2 or 8.8% of total global greenhouse gas emissions in 2019. The United States was responsible for 19% of global tourism-linked emissions, followed by China (15%) and India (6%), collectively accounting for 39% of the world's tourism emissions.

🔌 Halles Metro received their 8th consecutive ISO 50 001 certification for energy performance from AFNOR in November. Since first certified in 2015, the network of 99 stores has reduced energy consumption and carbon footprint, installing LED lighting and optimizing heating systems. Future plans include further solarization, real-time energy management tools, and a new energy policy to reinforce the commitment of the executive committee (Comex).

📈 On November 4, 2024, E2C France Network and KFC France renewed their partnership agreement, originally initiated in 2022, to bolster impactful actions for trainees and territories.
