  • 11 août 2024
🏠 François-Joseph Mugg, a former art restorer and stonecutter from Paris, purchased Le Saint-Pierre, the oldest restaurant in Ault, Somme, established in 1866. In April, Mugg, alongside neighboring restaurateurs, launched a 'loyalty card' to promote local dining diversity, including a seaside restaurant, brasserie, Parisian bistro, bourgeois cuisine, and a food truck. Clients receive a gift after visiting each participating establishment. The initiative has gained media attention and contributed to the area's development and appeal.

1. Literie : la nouvelle donne hôtelière

  • lhotellerie-restauration.fr
  • 11 août 2024
🛏 In a Coach Omnium study, hotel room comfort, especially beds, was a top client expectation, leading to EquipHotel 2024 (Nov 3-7, Paris) combining wellness and bedding in one pavilion. Tediber's "Grand Ours" range offers a mattress with a lifetime service. Dunlopillo created a 100% renewable eco-foam, and Tréca recycles bath linen into mattresses. Anti-acarien features are popular post-pandemic, with brands like Immunoctem offering latex mattresses and Grand Litier providing antimicrobial and hypoallergenic products. Comfort also considers individual 90 cm mattresses over 180 cm ones. High thread count linens and space-saving integrated headboards/light fixtures enhance functionality. Lumicene's LumiPod offers upscale, ready-to-install hotel rooms. Window Paris provides sustainable, locally-sourced curtains within a 30 km radius for hotel Le Chapitre in the Vosges.

🏠 Airbnb's revenue growth slowed to +11% in Q2 2024 compared to +18% in Q3 2023, while EBITDA increased by +9% versus +15% in the previous year. Despite a significant slowdown in the summer of 2024, Paris saw a doubling of reservations from Q2. MKG Consulting reports that accommodation prices in June rose by +2.3% from 2023 and soared by +16.7% from 2022, with an average of €146.9 per night. Airbnb's strategy includes heavier marketing investment, focusing on its "Icons" vertical, and surpassing 8 million listings after removing 200,000 that didn't meet standards. The platform aims to professionalize individual hosts and adjust pricing to market demand.
