📝 TripAdvisor's 2024 "Transparency Report" revealed that 2.7 million reviews were removed for being highly suspicious, with accommodation and attraction owners responsible for half of the fake reviews. Out of 31 million reviews posted in 2024, 12% were deleted. Boosting reviews by owners or their employees accounted for 54% of fake reviews. About 9,000 tourism businesses received warnings, and 360,000 reviews were deleted due to employee incentive programs. European users contributed 50% of reviews, North Americans 17.1%, and Asia increased its share to over 16%. The average review rating was 4.42, with 75% receiving a 5-star rating. All suspected fake reviews were removed within 24 hours.

After record travel years in 2022 and 2023, 2025 sees a decline in French vacation departures by 1 point to 62% for stays of 4 nights or more, compared to 63% in 2024, 65% in 2023, and 67% in 2022. Parisian travel rates near 80%, with 2/3 of large city residents vacationing versus 60% from smaller towns. Only 51% of French people will stay in paid accommodation in 2025, down from over 55% in the previous two years.
