At a time when talent retention remains one of hospitality’s greatest challenges, Appart’City has chosen to strengthen its foundations from within. Its transformation project, Unleashing the New Hospitality, launched in 2024, placed employees at the center of a company-wide effort to redefine its core values.
Through a participative process involving teams from every function, the group identified four guiding principles—Friendliness, Kindness, Team Cohesion, and Consideration—now integrated into recruitment, management, and training practices. This collective approach has reinforced engagement, pride, and belonging, turning abstract values into daily behaviors.
By aligning its purpose with the aspirations of today’s workforce and travelers, Appart’City shows that innovation in talent management begins with people, laying the groundwork for a more human, responsible, and lasting form of hospitality.
Beachcomber – Feel the Happiness You Give
In a post-crisis hospitality landscape marked by talent shortages, Beachcomber Hotels & Resorts has transformed its people strategy into a philosophy of shared happiness. Rooted in its People First culture, the initiative Feel the Happiness You Give redefines employer branding by linking employee well-being with guest satisfaction, creating a genuine circle of positive impact.
Developed through direct dialogue with nearly 1,000 “Artisans,” the program is built around five core pillars: trust, growth, care, pride, and joy. These values come to life through concrete measures such as confidential mental health support, intergenerational leadership workshops, and cost-of-living assistance.
