🏨 RIYAZ International and Jin Jiang Hotels have formed RJJ Hotels Sdn. Bhd. to develop hospitality in Southeast Asia. They've signed a Hotel Management Agreement for a Metropolo Hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos, set to open in 2026. RJJ Hotels aims to manage 108 hotels within five years across Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Malaysia will be the headquarters for RJJ Hotels, with an upcoming launch event in August 2025 to introduce Jin Jiang Global Purchasing Platform (GPP) to investors.

🏡 L'Hôtel Royal 5*, situated in Evian by Lake Geneva, has been re-awarded the prestigious Palace distinction by Atout France, recognizing its exceptional location, historical significance, and commitment to excellence in hospitality. Initially designated as a Palace in 2016, the hotel's service quality, vibrant soul, unique setting, and responsible engagements were particularly commended by the jury.

🏨 Moxy Hotels by Marriott International is set to expand with a new property in Aarau, Argovie, Switzerland opening by end of 2028. The former Aarauerhof hotel, adjacent to Aarau’s train station, will be transformed into a 145-room Moxy hotel. Pensimo Group (owner), The Chocolate on the Pillow Group (operator), and Marriott International are collaborating on the project, which includes renovating and adding floors to create approximately 3,750 square meters of guest and communal spaces. Emphasizing environmental considerations, Pensimo chose adaptive reuse over new construction to minimize CO₂ emissions.

Aimed at the new generation of travel-specific content creators, the academy responds to the growing demand for high-quality, social-first content. This initiative comes as 76% of travel decisions are influenced by social media, yet only 24% of industry data reflects proficiency in content production for social platforms.

🏡 Dubaï became the first Certified Autism Destination™ in the Eastern Hemisphere, awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). Over 70,000 individuals have undergone autism and sensory disorders awareness training. The city has more than 300 certified hotels and 15 attractions committed to providing an inclusive experience. This initiative is part of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 and underscores its efforts towards social inclusion and quality of life for visitors and residents alike.

✈ United Airlines Ventures invested in Twelve via its Sustainable Flight Fund, bolstering the startup which raised $85 million in Series C funding. Twelve's sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility in Moses Lake, Washington, to begin operation this year, producing 50,000 gallons of SAF annually. United previously invested $5 million in Viridos in 2023. Twelve has contracted to supply 260 million gallons of SAF over 14 years to IAG's five airlines, including British Airways and Iberia, starting in February 2024.

🚘 Routematic, an Indian corporate transport service, has raised 35 million euros in a Series C funding round led by Fullerton Carbon Action Fund and Shift4Good. The company aims to expand its fleet to over 10,000 vehicles, with 30% electric, by March 2026. The TaaS market in India is predicted to grow from $6.1 billion in 2024 to $13.2 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 11.8%. Founded in 2013, Routematic operates in 23 cities and serves 300 companies, facilitating 5 million trips for 300,000 employees every month.

🏗 On April 30, Senegal marked a significant milestone in its tourism ambitions with the official launch of ONOMO ALLURE Saint-Louis, a 4-star hotel complex. This upscale project, a partnership between Fortunes Capital SA, Groupe ONOMO, cabinet ATEPA, and Synequanone & Partners, involves an investment of 65 billion FCFA (~100 million euros). Aimed at establishing Saint-Louis as a premier tourist destination in West Africa, the project prides itself on strategic vision, environmental commitment, and socio-economic impact. ONOMO ALLURE Saint-Louis, positioned in northern Senegal, is set to create 1,000 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs, emphasizing luxury, comfort, eco-friendly technologies, and promoting sustainable tourism through a significant reduction in energy and water consumption, incorporating renewable energies.

🏖️ Alexandra Questel, since May 2024, leads the Comité Territorial du Tourisme de Saint-Barthélemy (CTTSB), aiming for a sustainable tourism model by 2025. The airport of Saint-Barthélemy-Rémy-de-Haenen saw 203,754 passengers in 2023, a 6.9% drop from 2022, but still higher than pre-pandemic 2019. Gustavia's port traffic increased by 23% in 2023, with 347,572 passengers, exhibiting the island's tourism resilience.
