Durabilité, Monde | Choice Hotels renforce son engagement durable avec la publication de son rapport 2024

🏡 Choice Hotels International, a leading hospitality franchisor, published its 2024 Sustainability Report. Megan Brumagim, VP of Upscale Brands and Director of Sustainability, spearheads the initiative, emphasizing reducing environmental footprint while adding value for hotel owners. The report includes, for the first time, Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions alongside Scope 1 and 2, marking a key step towards science-based target setting. In 2024, a notable partnership includes a $150,000 annual donation to the National Parks Foundation and a feature for Choice Privileges members to convert points to donations, aligning with 95% of Choice Hotels being within 90 minutes of a national park.

🏇 Polo Valley, inaugurated 10 years ago in Casares (Málaga), has been a game-changer for polo in Costa del Sol. Founder Christian Byrne is expanding with two projects over 320 million euros to make Val de Guadiaro a top European polo and luxury tourism destination. The Owners Club at Casares, the largest polo center in southern Europe, will feature six private stables with 72 boxes, a year-round polo field, a world-class riding track, and create 25 permanent jobs. The Hills at San Roque will offer a five-star hotel, wellness center, beach club, spa, gourmet dining, 16 luxury villas, an Andalusian village-style commercial complex, a private hospital, and a 500-space underground parking, creating 250 direct and 500 indirect jobs. Polo Valley, established in 2015, boasts three polo fields, 180 stables, and accommodation facilities.
