🏕 Vacances Bleues acquired Club Arc-en-Ciel at Les Karellis, marking its 26th establishment, set to open on December 21, 2024. The all-inclusive club, located at the heart of the Maurienne Valley at the foot of the ski slopes, aims to offer a unique winter holiday experience. Jérôme Vayr, president of Vacances Bleues, will serve on the SACMAC cooperative managing the station. Les Karellis, founded in 1975 by Pierre Lainé, operates on a unique, solidarity-based economic model where all profits are reinvested into the station and local development.

Abhijay Sandilya, CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, commends Iinuma's proven track record, confident in his ability to lead and expand IHG's operations in the Japanese market. Previously, Iinuma held roles at ANA Hotel Tokyo, revenue management in Tokyo, and as general manager at IHG hotels across Japan.

🏨 IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the expansion of the Garner brand across the UK and Europe. Garner, launched in August 2023, targets mid-range hotels, offering high returns for owners and quality experiences for customers. By the first half of 2024, Garner signed 76 properties, with 58 in IHG's European market. Conversions showed record activity, with 41% of global openings and 55% of new signings in the same period related to IHG's revenue-generating platforms and loyalty programs.

The demolition and reconstruction into a new hotel complex must happen within 36-60 months, while Cogit acquires adjacent tennis court land. A social plan will address the 55 job losses.

📌 Journal Officiel du 16 octobre 2024 announces a decree dated October 3, 2024, extending amendments to the national collective agreement for hotels, cafes, and restaurants. Now, employees with one year of seniority (previously three years) must be classified at Level I Echelon 2. Seasonal workers’ one-year seniority is assessed by adding up successive seasonal contracts in the same company. A contribution has also been established to finance joint management, a move long adopted by hotel group managers for direct Level I Echelon 2 classification to ensure competitive salaries.

🏨 Service Properties Trust (SVC) plans to sell 114 Sonesta-managed hotels with 14,925 keys, valued at a net book value of $850 million, by 2025. The sale will potentially save SVC approximately $725 million in capital expenditures over six years. Currently, SVC owns 187 Sonesta-managed hotels; post-sale, Sonesta will manage 39 full-service, 14 extended-stay, and 6 select-service hotels still owned by SVC, which retains a 34% stake in Sonesta. The sale aims to improve SVC's liquidity by preserving around $127 million annually.
